    Have you got room for an adapter pipe - 1.5" ID to 2" OD? A piece of 
1-1/2" water pipe would work. The trick is to pin the two together.

    I have never found a satisfactory way to shim masts to rotators.

    What about just pinning the 1.5" right to the mast clamp? The T2X already 
has a hole in the rotator upper clamp and you can just let the fit be sloppy. 
If you get some huge forces on the antenna/tower, the bolt will act like a 
fuse/shear pin anyway so you can't get into too much trouble.

    Sounds like you're getting ready for SS for the first time in years.
