Most of the replies to your post were concerning CC&Rs... but codes are
important too. Check with the department which issues building permits to
see
what their restrictions are. And don't necessarily believe what they tell
you.
When I first checked here (San Bernardino county, CA) I was told the max
height
for a tower was the same as for a building. Turned out to be wrong
information,
but the only way I found out was reading the relevant documents myself. The
people who actually manned the department had no clue whatsoever. Scary but
true.
