I've got some cheap Dacron (I think) rope that I used to "temporarily" guy
my 40' tower when I moved 12 years ago.  Yes, it is still doing that
"temporary" duty (vhf antenna only).  It's the white with red stripe stuff
you find at the farm store.  Still in great shape.  YMMV, and this is NOT a
recommendation, just info for anyone interested.  I've also got a spool of
the OD mil. surplus stuff that I haven't put to use yet.  In both cases,
they are 1/4" or less diameter.
