[Towertalk] stripping enameled wire

Tony,
I have burnt the enamel coating off my placing the end of the wire in the
flame of a match. Once the enamel starts to burn remove the wire from the
match flame. As soon as the length along the wire needed has been obtained
blow out the flame as if you were blowing out a birthday cake candle. The
enamel burns to a black cinder that can be taken off with your finger nail.
Then proceed to solder the were ends as needed. You should get a good feel
for the burning process after a couple of tries. Each type of wire coating
burns a little differently.
