if you are going to try to heat the larger diameter I recommend you do this
while the joint is under pressure to separate...aluminum is excellent at
conduction of heat fast....or cool....that's why it is perfect for liquid
refreshment containers...if you heat, turn off the torch, put it down, then
wiggle the joint by that time a lot of the benefit will be lost.
