[TowerTalk] Horizontal loop

I know this is not a tower question, but I have to ask.
I have a pretty good sized back yard with a wooden fence all the way around it.  I would like to put a wire around the top of the fence and make a horizontal loop for 160, possibly 80, etc.  The fence is about 50 foot long south on both sides and 100 foot along the back side.  I could bring the ends in to the middle of the house and feed with a feeder to the tuner.  Will this work for me at all or is this a waste of time, wire, energy etc.?
