Before painting your tower you should wash it with TSP and rinse it
thoroughly.  You need to be sure that you purchase paint and primer if
necessary that will adhere to the galvanized finish.  You probably would get
better looking results if you assemble the tower prior to painting.  I have
been using a painting glove for painting my Rohn 55G tower, but with the
Trylon construction a brush may work better.

I'm putting up a 60' Trylon steel tower. I want to paint it so that it
blends in better with the surrounding area.

Are there any special preparations or procedures to follow when doing this?

What type of paint should I use, and how many coats should be applied?

Is it better to paint before stacking, or after it is all assembled?

Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
