Well the unanimous opinion was that horizontal installation of ground rod is 
right up there with trying to get pet rocks to generate offspring.
So let me float this. If I were to get a 8' piece of 1/4" angle iron and cut 
one end to a point is there something I could rent that would drive the angle 
iron for an 8' guide hole ??
