I regret that I never got to work W6AM even though I've been on the air since the late 1960s. I heard Don several times in pile-ups over the years but never had the pleasure of a QSO. But even way back then, I knew he was an old timer of real distinction and his signal was always strong. If only I knew then what I know now about this great pioneer of radio, I would have tried harder for a W6AM QSO and QSL.
