I'm using aluminum fence wire on the ground for radials beneath my trap vertical.
They've been on the ground for 7 years now, and they're still there ,now under about
an inch of decomposing leaves/pine needles in a dense forest floor here in NC.

It's pretty thin stuff too...18 gauge or so! Fortunately I hadn't read that they
would disappear before I put them down (about 50 of them)  seven years ago.  :-)
