center fed zepp: An antenna in which the feedpoint is at the center of the
total length, which is usually a straight line but may be a vee or some
other configuration. The key defining characteristic is that the length on
each side of the feedpoint is equal. Usually fed with balanced feedline, so
symmetry in height, distance from surrounding buildings, ground etc., and
configuration of radiating material, is desirable.
Dipole: A dual-pole antenna i.e. not a monopole, typically 1/2 w. total but
does not have to be, and where symmetry is not always necessary, i.e. length
on each side of feedpoint may not be equal (asymmetric dipole).
basically all center fed zepps are dipoles; not all dipoles are center fed
zepps.
