Objet : [TowerTalk] Towers and XYLs
My XYL's only argument was that she didn't want it in the front yard.

This may be a little off topic.......I've never understood some XYL's
complaints about ham radio antennas and towers. I'm not talking about
the ugly
monstrosities of K3LR, W3LPL, W9RE, K4XS and other fanatics. I'm
talking about
modest 30 footers with maybe an A-3 on top.
My approach to a reluctant XYL would be to drive her to the closest
"fanatic," and have her take a peak at what you "really would like," and
then propose
your modest setup. Lacking a local fanatic, look up some of the
"fanatics" on
qrz.com or do a Googol search to find pictures of those stations. That
may
help....and of course a dozen roses might just put you over the top!
After all,
you're not asking to start a house of ill-repute, just a modest station
for
some R&R.
