The B&W antenna is extensively used by the military in the ALE operations where diverse frequency sounding and scanning is utilized..generally signal strength is not an issue and a 3 to 5 db loss not a problem...I plan to homebrew one for testing...we typically run 10 to 15 watts and work the east coast from New England to Carolina.
