Can you give us some examples of safe and unsafe use of the Gin Pole?

I just copied the post from another reflector......
 
Safe operation.........Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Unsafe...................Don't follow them.
 
There are lots of pros on the reflector who are better qualified than I to  
answer this question in more depth.
