if u have an old yagi/CB beam it's a good source for parts. 
 
you didn't say what freq you intend. 10' thick wall alum EMT  makes a good 
boom. 
home stores carry some of the SS hardware. some  carry 10''x10''x 1/4'' alum 
plate which you can turn into a boom/mast plate. any  elec. supply sells oxid. 
for making metal EMT joints. works Ok on  ant.s
you want split or gamma driven element? an old Mosley makes  split feed easy. 
you can fabricate a gamma with sheet alum.
i have simple 2 el yagis on 17m & 12m using Mosley donor  parts.
 
found alum. for elements at a scrap yard.
 
2 el. yagis are easy to match with 50 ohm. you can web search  'ugly balun' 
and wind your own balun.
