Hitchhiking on the WiFi camera idea... I'd also
suggest a motion detector and spotlights aimed at
the guy anchor area.  The objective being to let 
the intruder know that you know he's there.  

If you have power to the tower, you could sense the
trip-on, sound an audible alarm, and know to check
the cameras.  

It's safe to assume this sabotage is happening in low light
situations, to which visible-spectrum cameras may not
respond adequately.  Even SWIR cameras would require 
illumination.

Maybe you could use an electric fence system, to drive 
insulated turnbuckle ties...with strategically removed 
insulation, such that the saboteur gets a shock if removing
or cutting the tie-wires?
