Hello, name here is George and the call is KF6PYF.

I need help identifying a tower. It is supposed to be military surplus.
I was told it is built of aluminum and titanium.
Each section is about 8 feet long and only seems to weigh about 10 to 15
pounds maybe less as I can pick a section up comfortably using just two
fingers.
Each section is connect to the next and is locked in place with a pin.
This tower is very well built!

Below are links to some pictures of the tower.
The only piece I did not get a picture of
was the fold over base, we hadn't picked it up yet.

I picked this up from an older Ham in our club. He said he paid quite
lot for it and never got to use it. It's been under a tarp in his back
yard for longer then he can remember.

Besides needing help identifying it, I was also wondering if I got a
good deal on this package.

The package included
#1. 7 sections of Aluminum tower including fold over base, rotating top
section, and 2 guying plates
#2. Brand new still sealed in the original box Hustler BTV6 which
included the choke kit
#3. Brand new never opened Cushcraft APR-18A radial kit
#4. Slightly used 2 meter Cushcraft Ringo ranger
#4. An HP model 4038 (db) RMS AC voltmeter
All for the whopping total of $200

Since I already have two towers I was thinking of using this one for
portable field day use. Maybe mounting the base to an 8 foot trailer.
My son and I did a test and were able to assemble the tower with 6
sections about 48 feet a small tri band yagi and have it up and secured
in less the 30 min. The tower is so light that without an antenna and
rotor one person can easily walk it to vertical.

To erect the tower I started by staking the base to the ground using 4,
four foot sections of rebar one on each corners of the base plate. I
drove the rebar down about 3 feet,The hinged base is very thick and is
about 2.5 feet square, there are 4 holes in the corners of the plate.
This tower seems to be very sturdy. I think if the base was mounted to
an 8 foot trailer it could easily handle a small tri bander without guying.

Anyhow I hope someone can help me identify this tower and maybe help me
track down some specifications.
