Hi Guys,

I'd like to say "thanks" to the many who shared tips with me last week for
the "40-m beverage". Your tips were VERY helpful!
With your input, I put together a 40-m. beverage on Friday and had it
operating Friday evening for the ARRL DX Test. The beverage worked excellent and
produced about 100 European q's that I wouldn't have made without it. The
beverage, as installed, gave me about a 3 S-unit signal-to-noise advantage over
my transmit antenna. (1/4 wave vertical in saltwater river)

Perhaps the biggest surprise was when several folk mentioned that a 1.5 to 2
wavelength (198' to 264') beverage on 40-m. would outperform a 500-600'
beverage. That was exciting news because I don't have room for a 500' beverage
at this QTH.

So for those who are space limited... I think you will be pleasantly
surprised at how well a 200' beverage works on 40 meters!

73 & Good DX'ing!
