[TowerTalk] mesh radials

Hi, 

I am about to improve my radial system for the combined 130 feet vertical
for 160m

and 80 m 4 SQ ( design from ON4UN's low band DX ing 4th edition  11-72  ).
My thought was to 

lay  4 quarter wave  stripes of zinc coated mesh ( 1 m wide with 25 mm
aperture ) 

from the foot of the tower under the 4 verticals of the 80m  4 SQ.

Can this improve the performance of the existing ground system of 64 40m
long radials ?

 

Any hint is highly appreciated.
