[TowerTalk] Ground mounting vs roof mounting verticals

Not sure if anyone mentioned this (I didn't read all the responses) but installing a Butternut or other long vertical on a mast over a beam is impractical in high winds because these things need at least lightweight rope guys to survive long term, and on a tower with a beam below it, guying is very difficult to accomplish.

I wouldn't do it.
