My friend W5EW used a Carolina 80 Windom that he could only get 40 feet up 
in the center and the ends were a mere 12 feet off the ground.  Not 
satisfied with the results on 30 he looked at all the verticals and he used 
a locals 6BTV with me on a 40 meter schedule and boy was he banging in from 
South LA to near Atlanta.

He bought a 6BTV and has it gound mounted with about 30 radials (12 for 30 
meters).  Using 100 watts he just passed 145 DXCC.  He has a good 80 and 40 
signal and during the Dx contests he worked stations easily on 15 and 20.

He worked the 2 DXCC entities he needed to finally make the DXCC Honor roll 
although he never heard FT5GA well enough to make a QSO.
