[TowerTalk] M2 6M5X balun testing?

There's nothing complicated about its wiring: It's a standard "T-match" with a coax balun.  The center conductor of the feedline and one end of the balun go to one side of the T-match; the center conductor of the other side of the balun goes to the opposite side of the T-match.  Everything else is common to ground.  It's real simple.

I'm astonished that "weather" would even have any impact on this unless the F-connectors weren't tight.  The M2 balun uses F-connectors with O-ring seals and mine's been up 10 years through horrendous rainstorms with no issues at all.  I'm pretty sure it would work fine underwater, the connectors and seals are very weatherproof and the same stuff the Cable TV companies use outdoors.

I installed one of my 6 M5X's after being on the ground for a year or so
and am seeing High SWR now.  Anyone try or have an idea how to test the
center balun that has the phasing line that attaches to it?

 

Ill call M2 Monday...but wanted to see if anyone knows how the internal
of the balun center hub is wired.
