While waiting on favorable weather to get my SteppIR down for repair, I put up an R8.

I have it up 10' and the mast is grounded as per the instructions. It's 40 feet from 
the house, is as clear a spot as I have on my 1/2 acre lot. I'm feeding it with Buryflex.

The SWR is very good, but it's more or less a dummy load, and seems to hear a lot 
better that it talks. Normally I have to run a K to work a DX station that's coming 
in S5 to S7. The highest my S meter (calibrated) has read is S9.

Any hints or kinky?
