The control box shown is from an old HyGain ROTOBRAKE Model 400 (have 2 of them).  The original TELREX control box had a compass rose. 



In April 1980 this rotor  was $1135.00

Well it is made by Telrex!  They were located in NJ and have been out of business for at least a decade.  They used A/C motors with a selsyn connected to the motor and another one in the control box for direction indication.  They were very heavy duty. I have an enclosed model in great condition for sale if anyone is interested.
