There is plenty of paint on the market that can hold up fine to the weather; the concern I have is scratching the paint off in spots during installation, and particularly around the clamps for your antenna(s). You'll always have some rust around those areas, and eventually it will turn into serious rust, just depends what kind of climate you're in. I suppose it could be touched up after install, but you'll never be as good as dipping it in the zinc bath. Hey Gene, did you paint the inside as well? Cap the top?

I painted a stick of it 15.00 years ago or so with a 2 part epoxy paint that
we used to paint HV outdoor switchgear with. It still hasn't rusted after
all these years and I used for the driveshaft on my current tower. DuPont
makes a paint called Imron that I understand to be in the same family.
Haul it over to a Auto Body shop and they be glad to spray it as they mix 2
part paint all the time. Good luck Gene K2QWD

I am looking for 20'-23' or so of 2" diameter .250" wall mast. I found a
local supplier that can sell me it at 14.20 per foot which works out to 284
dollars. That's a delivered price. The only thing is, it is not galvanized.
What are the thoughts on this? Will this material rust fast enough that it
may fall apart in 5-10 years? I know it won't be shiny...
