Jim,

I thank you for sharing your observations.

I guess I will just have to learn to live with the noise. No way am I
going to get involved with a tower I have to climb. (And I live in a
rural area where renting a tall (70 foot) man lift is rather problematic.

At this point the wind loading seems to be the biggest problem, but I
will be sure to also account for the weight loading as well. Thank you
for pointing that out..

As to the different windspeeds. I wish I had a specification source that
was totally consistent. However, I would not think that the difference
in specification between 90mph and 85mph would be all that great. I
realize that the relationship is non-linear, but the 6% windpseed
difference certainly cannot lead to a 3.3x spec difference. I am more
concerned that the Tashjian tower spec does no indicate which exposure
regime is being used.

Thank you and 73;

John N7ZN

Tower sections clanked as the wind spun the antenna and the tower sections back and forth. It wasn't noticable when the tower was retracted but boy did it make its presence known when it was up and it was windy. It didn't take a lot of wind, certainly not to the point I would have considered lowering the tower for safety.
