[TowerTalk] Water pipe as a mast

Yup!

You should have enough play "slop" in the bearing (or tube top) and rotor to
be able to use 1-1/2 water pipe. I used it for many years in Rohn 25 with a
Tailtwiseter and both a TH6 and a 204BA mounted a foot above the tower.
Worst case you may have to shim around the pipe with some flashing or other
shim stock but very un-likely. Just Check it for binding by rotating it
around a few times.

Dan,

1 1/2" nominal pipe will have an outside diameter of 1.9 inches. This is
true for either schedule 40 or 80.

I seem to have lost my mast pipe , and only have access to Homedepot , Lowes
and such , I am only going about 1 ft above the top of the tower so I figure
heavy water pipe should work. Does anyone know what size is close to what
fits in a Tailtwister ?
