Hi George The original Chushcraft 40-2CD has the discrepancy you said. Has to do with the dim from C/L of the boom with the added insulator . The tube you need is 1 1/4 od .058 wall 72 inches long. Stan your looking at the EG tube on the New XM240CD not the EG tube on the 40-2CD Wayne W3EA
