Right. This is first an ENGINEERING question, and should be answered by 
structural calculations by someone qualified to do so.  Rohn's 
recommendations are for a generic install with no limits on what can be 
done, and for what they are sure will cover their behind legally. There 
are always other safe ways to do things, but just staring at it and 
saying "I did such and such and it didn't come down" is NOT a good 
answer. At least not for MY tower, or for one that a friend would climb..
