Lowe's here also has a sealant suitable for aquariums. My son uses it on his 
aquariums without killing corals or fish. Definitely doesn't smell like 
acetic acid. You do need to read the labels carefully to find the right 
stuff.

Pet shops sell RTV for aquariums which is safe for fish and not
corrosive. Good stuff.

sez on the tube... made for aquariums.   Once opened.... it smells  like
acetic acid...like vinegar...and regular RTV goop.  .    I have not used it.
I think it’s a manufacturing defect....dunno, so beware.... and smell it 
1st.
