Hi Kathy,

I don't think you will have any QRN problems with the "monsters" as they are regulated the same way as most electric/electronic devices. If you can't hear they on your AM radio I guess there are no problems at all as RFI/EMI tend to be lower at higher frequencies (My personal experience.).

To bad you can't use they for some nifty LW. :)

I'm told that acoustic noise from the wings can be a problem but have no personal experience with that.

Good luck at your new QTH.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Windmills and their possible problems??

Hi,
I've been looking to move to an area that would be more favorable to towers and
antennas than my typical suburban QTH.

Yesterday I looked at a place with a couple acres. It is situated right in a
large group of these 300' monsters.
Google windmills wethersfield ny and see a panoramic of them.

Would be a great radio qth but really am concerned of what the effect of all
these generators would be? Do they generate QRN that will be concern? Or other
types of electrical interference?

I didn't hear anything unusual on my AM car radio when I listened.

Does anyone have any experiences with operating near them?

73,
Kathy W2NK
