[TowerTalk] Tower regulations for home brew towers in the US

I live in Vermont and can tell you the answers for VT and NH. It is town
dependent. The more rural the town, the more likely you do not need a
permit. The more the town is near one of the "larger" (that means in excess
of 25 - 30,000 people around here), the more likely a permit is required, or
if it's a ski or historical town.

Home brew or not would not matter in virtually all cases. Once a town is
involved, they may have their own requirements. Usually a professional
engineer sign off is NOT required unless it is in a very densely populated
or sensitive area. However some towns will require it, just not many.

I have 2 towers with permits in semi-rural Vermont. There was no inspection
nor engineering. Just a permit and fee.
