Come to Michigan. We not only get lake effect from SW all the way
around to SE. but the acid rain from the industry all the way around the
South end of Lake Michigan. I couldn't open or close the N man door on
the garage fot abour 4 months due to ths concrete apron and floor heaving.

The S man door on the shop is about an inch and a half above the apron.
By the ebd of December I could only open it 90 degrees before the corner
of the door fit the concrete, At he end it reached the point that I
could just squeeze in sideways between the door and frame.

Our roads are covered with a mix of sand and salt, but most of the time
the salt freezes too,so they go to Calcium chloride which I think is
good for another 10 degrees. So it slings the salt filled slush up to
thoroughly coat the bottom and keep the salt there till spring. You can
wash it off, but it's usually coated thoroughly by the time you get home.

Chicago's acid rain (clear up here) makes a set of Aluminum screens good
for a season or two. With the sun and chemicals, nylon screens last
about the same.

You really need a winter and a Summer car up here!

Dow "used to be" a problem. In 61 with the wind out of the SE I could
take off from the local airport and follow the cloud all the way to
Traverse City where it was still only a couple miles wide.

Now you neither see it or smell it. They have really made some strides
in the environment. They blame Dow, but the are the ones who developed
the ability to measure such small amounts to clean it up. No, I never
worked for them.

Everybody has problems. Conn is the government and taxes.
