That is an excellent point Steve. Do to the mess I really do not care for
using anti-seize compound, especially while on the tower.  I have had
excellent results using a little white lithium grease on the threads. I have
no galling issues and it is easy to wipe up any excess.  I am sure that WD40
would also work in many applications.

Even the most inadequate lubricant (WD40), when it comes to the subject of
SS galling, is by my calculations and experience, exactly 99.4% better than
none at all.

I've never had SS hardware gall during the loosening process if it was
*truly* successfully tightened without any galling. And even WD40
accomplishes that.
