[TowerTalk] Yaesu G-2800 difference from G-1000

Yaesu has a formula for calculation the proper rotator for your antenna
load. I had two G-2800DXA's at my station in Aruba and they each turned a
tree of monobanders. The largest stack of antennas on a mast consisted of
a homebrew 4el 20m and a shortened 2el 40m. The wind almost never stops in
Aruba and the rotator is under constant stress rocking back and forth 24
hours a day. I never had a G-2800DXA failure.

Anyone have any insight into the difference between the
Yaesu G-1000 rotor vice the G-2800 rotor mechanically?

Also practical use/loading of a G-2800 ie type of antennas
it will reliably handle..........

Have had 3 ea G-1000's rotating boom lengths of 30ft or less and
windloads of 10 sq ft or less for 8 yrs with no problem here in
NW Alabama.

Looking at installing a M2 80mtr rotary dipole (94ft  long 10sqft) and
turning with
the G-2800.
