Subject: [TowerTalk] Delhi DMX-48 base stubs
Hi all,
Anyone have any suggestions for subs for the stubs? Wade Antenna changed the leg profile slightly, so new ones, apparently, don't work, and I'm having trouble locating stubs with the old profile.
It seems most older stubs are currently residing in concrete... including my old ones back at my parents' former home.
Seems to me there's nothing magical about replacing the structural strength necessary to hold up the tower.
This is a freestanding tower similar to, but more attractive than, Rohn BX. The stubs I need would attach to the DMX-106 (old part number) section.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I would use steel channel as a 1st choice vs 2 inch OD steel pipe. The steel tube will fill with water. If tubing or pipe is used..it really needs to be filled with concrete.
3-4 inch wide steel channel would mate to the tower legs a lot better vs pipe. Hit the steel channel with several coats of cold galvanize spray. I uses the cold spray from home depot,
made by rustoleum. It works a lot better than all the other brands I have bought from the local machine shops and industrial supply places. The home depot stuff is priced lower,
and the cans are taller. You gotta shake it up really good though.
