[TowerTalk] Panel mounting

After locating where the studs are and avoiding them and any romex in the wall, drill your new hole and use a short 2' emt nipple with rain tight connectors to connect the outside box with the new inside box (maybe 12"x 12" or larger) .    An extra nipple is not a bad idea for any power you may want to run now or later.  I like to use duct seal on both walls to keep weather and little creatures from using the hole as a highway. Since the mounting surface is probably not flush if it's siding, use some thick weather stripping behind the outside box, and then use a good clear caulk generously to the gaps caused by the uneven siding surfaces.  For anchoring it depends on what is underneath the siding, but I'd sure use more than just screws into it.  Long toggle bolts (1/4" or 5/16") should do it if there is plywood behind the siding.  I hope I answered the question you were asking.
