Sure, the existing switches ratings are above the minimum requirement but...
An argument in favor of higher than needed current switching capacity in
this application is that with commonly available switches the heavier
current switching switches are often more physically robust. There is no
functional penalty for going for higher ratings than needed. A couple
bucks "invested" in a more robust switch could very well be a wise
investment. But then I'm a belt and suspenders guy when it comes to
specs and don't like to "cut it close."
