The ground fin in T posts makes them considerably more
stable than a plain pipe.  The strength to weight ratio
is higher.  They work well to "fill" a 1 1/2 inch PVC
pipe without weighing as much as 1 1/2 inch rebar.
Also, there are tools to pull up T posts that don't
work on a plain pipe or rebar.  I'll stick
with T posts.
