My system works for me. Not saying it is the best, but year after year for
>20 years I have not had any problems with corrosion with connectors.
Double wrap with rescue tape. Then double wrap with 33+. Relieve tension on
last wrap. That is it.

By the way before I "discovered" rescue tape I used to only use 33+ for the
prior 23 years. I had two coax lines with barrel connectors only sealed with
33+ in the water for 8 years. When I pulled the cables and removed the tape
the connectors and coax shield looked like new. Maybe it is just using the
right stretch and overlap of the 33+ to make a good watertight seal?  

On exposed connectors I have been using Star Brite Liquid Electrical Tape.
Only 8 years' experience with it. But so far it seems to be holding up here
in up-state NY.  Of course we don't get that nice sunny weather like you
southerners.
Also tried STUFF for coaxial connectors. After several years it dried out. I
see no need to use it. Just tape the connectors properly.
Tried heat shrink tubing both with and without lined adhesive.  No negative
issues with that either.

Keep out the water

I've seen recommendations for this sort of product for as part of a strategy
sealing outdoor coax splices against moisture. I see several brands listed,
most say "UV-resistant." My intended use would be in addition to a first
double wrap with a product like Rescue Tape or 3M Mastic, and a UV
protection second wrap of Scotch 88, using the Liquid Tape for irregular
areas and parts that are hard to tape (for example, where a PL259 mates to
an SO239). I would appreciate any advice from those with experience.
