[TowerTalk] JK 402 versus CC XM-240

 The JK402T is more broadbanded than the JK402, but the gain is nearly identical.  Only .04db difference.  If you can swing it, a better consideration is the JK403.  The gain jumps up another db and has a much better pattern.  Of course the trade off is the longer boom......................

I replaced a working CC 40-2CD, which is electrically identical to the 
XM-240, with a W6NL Moxon, which is very close to the JK402T.

One would not expect much difference, replacing a 2-element 40 meter 
antenna on a 22' boom with another 2-element antenna on a 22' boom.

In my case it was NIGHT and DAY, a tremendous and noticeable 
improvement. I attribute this to lower loss in the loading coils, and 
better directivity per element due to longer length.

The broadbandedness of the Tee-style loading design is amazing, and my 
AL-1200 amp requires little adjustment while covering all of the CW or 
SSB portion of the band in a contest.

I would not hesitate to recommend the JK402T, based on the performance 
and design. Others have commented positively on JK Antennas build 
quality and mechanical sturdiness.
