There have been comments posted here before about the good performance 
for chokes and coils using silver plated Teflon coated stranded wire.  I 
just noticed that Skycraft Surplus is  offering some #10 (possibly too 
stiff unless using it on a 4 inch core) for $0.80 per foot.
