Don't confuse "verticals near salt water" with "verticals OVER salt water".
N5OTs example is a vertical over salt water with a few wave lengths in all
directions of exceptional salt water plane.  The typical installation is at
the edge of the beach so 50% is over salt water and the other 50% is over
whatever the ground condition is behind (which can vary greatly).

 

South facing property is never the ideal in the Carib.  It's the N - NNE
corner that is desired.  Then the saltwater magic is all in the desired
directions.
