When you don't understand what you read, everything is going to sound 
contradictory and confusing.  Saying things like "it may or may not be 
useful" and "I'm not going to be better off than just haphazardly 
building" isn't going to help you fix that.  Neither is expecting 
someone else to do all the work give you all the answers.
