Chuck,
I also have a Diamond X-50NA. I researched the paint. Rustoleum wouldn't promise me there wasn't metal in the paint. I selected Krylon, either because they told me it didn't have metal or I just got tired of researching. I can't remember for sure.
So I sprayed it with Krylon gray primer. It has worked fine for six years and there is no indication of paint failure. And it puts out a solid signal to Mt. Greylock, 77 miles away LOS.
