All well and good, if you happen to live in an area where professional antenna service is available. Many of us don't.

A tower climber knows what to do when he gets up a tower, and usually has a lot of experience about what works and what doesn't. A tree climber doesn't have a clue, there's no way you can tell him enough for it not to be a disaster. Also, the climbing techniques and accessories are completely different.

Climbing towers is a whole lot easier and safer than climbing trees. There are tree services everywhere there are trees. Has anyone ever tried hiring one to do some non-technical tower work? Equipped with a radio and a helmet camera, I'd thing one could talk one of these guys through a lot of antenna work.
