[TowerTalk] Source for Beverage Antenna Terminating Resistors

Dick,
I have a total of 25 Beverage wires in the field currently.
I used to use the Ohmite ceramics, but now all termination resistors have a Gas Discharge tube across them. Now, almost any decent resistor will survive.
Simple. Cheap. And you can stop worrying about losing resistors no matter what kind you use.....well unless you take a massive direct hit perhaps.

There is very extensive family of devices designed just for this purpose with a range of arc-over voltage ratings.
On my HI-z amps, switch boxes, and combiner PCBs I use these 3 pole through hole radial devices (like 2 tubes in one):

These leaded axial devices are great for single pole applications such as your Beverage termination resistor. Just solder one of these across the resistor:

As always, the Mouser parametric search lets you pick and choose whatever suits your needs:

Subject: [TowerTalk] Source for Beverage Antenna Terminating Resistors

Wondering if anyone has found a beefy 400 to 500 ohm Beverage resistor that can handle some nearby lighting strikes?  Or at least one that can hold up a good deal better than the average.  Even the 470 ohm 2-watt Beverage Resistors I purchase from DXE are blowing up like popcorn here at my Florida QTH.
Thank You & 73, Dick- K9OM
