Now, almost any decent resistor will survive.Simple. Cheap. And you can stop worrying about losing resistors no matter what kind you use.....well unless you take a massive direct hit perhaps.There is very extensive family of devices designed just for this purpose with a range of arc-over voltage ratings.On my HI-z amps, switch boxes, and combiner PCBs I use these 3 pole through hole radial devices (like 2 tubes in one):https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail/652-2036-07-B2LF These leaded axial devices are great for single pole applications such as your Beverage termination resistor.
