Only for those who don't understand the theory well enough to account 
for all of the possible variables.

Admittedly that includes most of us, but this old attitude that theory 
can't be trusted is just plain wrong ... and it is far too often used as 
a crutch by those who don't want to bother understanding the theory.  It 
is our inability to account for all of the variables that is the 
limitation, not the theory itself. Antenna theory is just a matter of 
math and has been firmly locked in place ever since Maxwell's equations.
