Yes. Certain brands have longer inner ferules, but not by much. It's a 
weak point in crimp connectors. I use two staggered length, double 
walled heat shrinks (at least one of which grabs the connector body) to 
force the flex point further out on the cable. Problem solved.

Of course, even with soldered connectors, it's a good idea to provide 
some strain relief via smart heat shrink application.
